Frequently Asked Questions

What equipment does my child need?

The only mandatory piece of equipment is a glove.  It is your choice if you would like to buy your child a bat, helmet or cleats.  Soccer cleats are allowed.

For softball, if you want  to buy a helmet, it has to have a chin strap and NOCSAE approved facemask.  Bats have to be ASA (Amateur Softball Association of America) approved.

What days do we practice and play?

TBall practices and games are up to the coaches and their availability.  In the past, TBall has practiced/played 1-2 days a week.  We would like to schedule a few away games against Union and Hampton this year.

Softball practices are up to the coaches availability and games are scheduled by the league.  Last year we played roughly 10 games, half of which are played at Heritage Park. We try to keep practice/gmaes to 2-3 a week.

I have a son in 2nd grade or higher or a daughter in 5th grade or higher, where can they play?

Unfortunately we have not had the numbers in the past to support teams in these age brackets.  Hampton and Union Twp each have leagues as well as North Hunterdon Youth Baseball and Softball.  If you have any questions about these leagues please reach out to our league commissioner and they provide you with more info.

What if there aren't enough girls to field a team?

The league we are in, The Stateliner Youth Softball Association, will place the girls on another team in the league depending on roster sizes.  Unfortunately we can not pick which team/town they go to or guarantee that players from our town will go to the same teams.
